You're in good hands

Swiss finances, finally explained like a friend would.

Living here is exciting - and exhausting. We take the weight off the money side: what to do first, what can wait, and what is actually worth optimising. No pressure, no jargon. Just calm, expat-aware guidance from people who have been there - backed by a Swiss advisory that has been doing this since 2020.

  • Not tied to a provider

As an untied broker we compare the offers of the providers we work with, rather than selling one company's products.

  • In your language

English, German, French and Italian - from advisors who moved here themselves.

  • You stay in control

One conversation, one clear plan. What happens after that is your call.

Expat finances in Switzerland - the basics

What is Hello Expats?

Hello Expats is the English-language brand of FINWIWO AG - an independent Swiss financial advisory in St. Gallen, active since 2020 and registered with FINMA under number 35704. We help with health insurance, insurance, taxes, pensions, investing and banking - in plain English, and tailored to the expat journey.

How do you get paid?

By the providers we work with, never by you. Where you take out a product through us, we receive a regulated brokerage fee from the provider, and we walk you through exactly how that works at our first meeting. Your first consultation and our comparisons are non-binding and cost you nothing.

Do I need to speak German to work with you?

No. We work with you entirely in English, and can also help in German, French or Italian. Swiss paperwork comes in the local language - translating and handling it is part of what we do.

What should I sort out first when I arrive in Switzerland?

Usually in this order: register at your commune, open a Swiss bank account, take out mandatory health insurance within three months, and add personal liability cover. From there we help you optimise taxes, pensions and investments.

Are you tied to any bank or insurer?

No. We are an untied broker, which means we work for you rather than for a provider. We compare across a broad range of insurers and recommend what fits your situation - our FINMA registration number 35704 is on the legal notice page.

How do we get started?

Book a 30-minute intro call, or use any of the tools on the site. Tell us your situation and we'll map out the next steps - with no obligation.
